Cogitations of K

Es su mundo. Expándalo.

Amazing. I actually remembered my login...

I haven't blogged in so long that I didn't think I would be able to recall my login credentials. Amazingly, I got in on the first try.

A lot has happened in the past year and I regret (somewhat) that I haven't captured any of it in my blog.

Since I'm starting a new chapter in my life, professionally, I thought it was high time to dust off the cob webs and clackity-clack my keyboard a bit.

Friday was my last day working in Information Technology at my company. I have really mixed feelings about it because there is a certain expert power that comes from being the (wo)man behind the curtain, if you will. I started dabbling in IT back in 1999, and then moved into a full-time developer position in February of 2000. Since that time I've gone from web developer, to reporting and analytics.

Monday begins a new chapter: Operations management.

I've spent much of this past week, and this weekend, reading all I can about the program that I will be managing, so that I can ramp up quickly. I was even watching instructional videos on how our patients inject themselves with their devices. I suppose I'm getting ahead of myself here and should clarify that I work for a company that provides patient support services, and reimbursement assistance to various patient populations. The program that I will be specifically managing is mainly for patients who have a condition or genetic disorder that requires sub-dermal injections of growth hormone. Given that I have a science-based education background, I find this all completely fascinating.

I'm really excited to experience the challenges and opportunities of a brand new role!
